NOVACES Awarded Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Contract for Continuous Process Improvement Deployment Services

The Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) will support the ongoing DLA headquarter-sponsored Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) / Lean Six Sigma (LSS) initiative.

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) November 23, 2009 -- NOVACES, a consulting firm that assists organizations to implement business process improvement programs, announced today that it has been selected by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to support the agency in the continuing deployment of CPI across the organization, including the facilitation of CPI projects, and delivery of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt and Champion training. To accomplish this, NOVACES is teamed with Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC) and C. Harris Companies, Inc. The BPA is established for five years – a base period and four additional one year ordering periods.

NOVACES will leverage its experience delivering process excellence for the government and military. A leader in CPI consulting and training services, the award reflects the company’s scope of work for the U.S. Department of Defense, which includes contracts for CPI deployment, curriculum development, mentoring and training for naval shipbuilding, naval aviation logistics, healthcare delivery, missile defense, and garrison services.

In 2007, the Deputy Secretary of Defense created a DoD CPI/LSS Program Office to drive DoD-wide process improvement activities and endorsed Lean Six Sigma (LSS) as one of several process improvement tools by which the Department, including DLA, will become more efficient in its operations and more effective in its support of the warfighter.

“We are pleased to be a part of the DLA CPI/LSS team. Our company’s pioneering work on the integration of Theory of Constraints with LSS in Naval Aviation maintenance will help to fulfill the process excellence efforts contracted by DLA,” said Ivan Radovic, president of NOVACES. The approach focuses improvement efforts where they are needed most.

In addition to training Black Belts, Green Belts and Champions, the contract involves best practice guidance, recommendations for updates to the curriculum, mentoring of new practitioners and project coaching. The work will also involve preparation and conduct of specific CPI deployment activities, including Value Stream Mapping and Analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, and Just-in-Time training.
